A 30-second cardiometabolic screen, where you carry fat matters as much as how much.
WHO-aligned cardiometabolic risk screen
Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) is simply your waist circumference divided by your hip circumference. It reveals where on your body you store fat, and that distribution is a powerful predictor of cardiovascular and metabolic risk.
The WHO recommends WHR alongside BMI because two people at the same BMI can have very different risk profiles depending on whether their fat sits around the abdomen (apple shape) or around the hips (pear shape).
WHO health-risk thresholds:
Abdominal (visceral) fat is metabolically active, it secretes inflammatory cytokines, drives insulin resistance, and raises blood pressure. That's why a higher WHR carries cardiovascular risk even at a normal BMI.
Visceral fat responds well to dietary changes, typically faster than subcutaneous fat. Evidence-based levers: a Mediterranean-style pattern, soluble fibre (oats, legumes, vegetables), reduced added sugar and refined carbs, and 150+ minutes per week of moderate activity.
Our heart-health program is built around exactly this, reducing abdominal fat and improving lipid and blood-pressure profiles. Track WHR every 6-8 weeks to see real progress.

Cardio-protective eating to manage cholesterol and blood pressure.
A high WHR is a warning, not a verdict. A targeted nutrition plan can move the needle in weeks. Book a free consultation to get started.
